In 2007 my wife, Sarah and I moved out of London and bought an old run down dairy farm and set about renovating it into the rural retreat for guests the following year. This has and continues to be a family project and our boys have helped right the way through with innovative ideas, giving us a valuable kids perspective on what real spaces should be.
Our Holiday lets are secluded enough to feel freedom and the grounds relaxed enough to have a wander and take in all the wild life, including owls, woodpeckers, kingfishers and deer that inhabit our surroundings. We also have our own fair share of "wonders" from the chickens (with great tasting real eggs for breakfast) to our tree house, tennis court and football area, to our boat house and fishing pond where a monster three pound eel was caught last year. (The Pike, however, continues to allude anglers alike).
We hope there is something for all, not forgetting Sarah’s boutique Boathouse shop, which is always worth a look for antiques to clothing.
Things to do in a beautiful location
Slightly further afield there are stunning walks through the footpaths from Partridge Lodge which, in one direction, will guide you to the beautiful Boulge Estate where lies, in a quiet secluded churchyard, Mr Edward Fitzgerald (translator of Omar Khayyam). Amble in the other direction and find yourself in Bredfield village itself, with a local pub, The Castle and the Village Shop to investigate.
We continue to build and share our now sizeable local knowledge of historic and fun things to do. We'll happily offer restaurant recommendations (which we'll book on your behalf if you like) From Bawdsey Quay to Sutton Hoo to Orford to Aldeburgh to Southwold to Thorpeness to Friday Street Farm Shop to The FarmCafe to the charm of Woodbridge itself, there is so much life and these are only some of our favourite places.

Canoe and Kayaking
As a family we have been kayaking on the river Deben for the last few years. Our journeys have left us with some of our most enchanting memories. For each trip we plan to get around 3 hours or so out on the water. Weather permitting! We take on the task of planning the trip, measuring against the tidal and weather systems of the area.
We will accompany or guide from a distance and provide boat transport, buoyancy aids and advice. All you need to do is decide whether you want to spend more time and what snacks to take.
Trips start from £55.
